SKØYEN METRO STATION 2ºPLACE OSLO METRO COMPETITION 2018
“Sumarnatta”
Or “Summer Night” as some of Edvard Munch paintings represent. Seemed to be the perfect name for this architectonic creation. Being inspired in Munch's painted curves, and his relevance in Skøyen, being the closest metro station from Munchs Ekely — his last permanent residence and studio — this was the end result of our entry for this competition.
Even though Munch did not specifically paint Bygdøy, Skøyen is still the closest metro to it. It is also where Oslo experiences Munch's beautiful landscape where the rocky forest meets the water, and the never-ending light of a summer night.
This was a competition developed together with Austigard Arkitektur & Sporaarchitects.
